Frequently asked questions

  • What data is of relevance and how will it be collected?

Each case is unique: We support you in deciding which data sources, types and formats should be considered and used individually based on your situation.

Our experienced and high-caliber experts collect the data either directly or in collaboration with your IT team. If required, we analyze the data for digital evidence and traces from a variety of sources.

  • There is a lot – a lot - of documents in my eDiscovery project. Where should I start my documents review and how can I prioritize?

Planning is key. We can conduct an early case assessment with you to simplify the review and help you find the most relevant documents first. We offer an easy to use and flexible web-based review platform, enabling us to host very large and complex projects. Through our platform, augmented by our unique in-house custom software developments, we will help you to accelerate and optimize the review. From standard steps such as deduplication and threading, to advanced data analytics, concept-clusters and machine learning, we can deploy several tools and techniques to kick-start and streamline the workflows.

  • How can I reduce my eDiscovery costs?

Good proactive Information Governance provides a better starting point for eDiscovery, litigation or other investigation, compared to reactive methods. Implementing an effective system will make the experience of any investigation or litigation smoother, less stressful, and less costly. Preparation is the best asset. When the requests come in, collecting the right data, applying precise processes for data preparation, and conducting an efficient review will also make the difference.

  • As an IT forensic expert, what can Swiss FTS assess?

During an IT forensic investigation, we focus on establishing which procedures have taken place on an IT system and who was responsible for them.

Among other services in the field of digital forensics, we prepare businesses for IT forensic investigations and support them in insourcing the eDiscovery process. Please contact us for further details.

  • I suspect an incident in my IT system. Do I need to shut down the system?

Whether the system ought to be taken offline or not depends on the situation. Get in touch and we will be happy to advise you to ensure that potential evidence is not inadvertently destroyed.

  • How long does an IT forensic investigation take?

Many factors play a key role in an IT forensic investigation, so it is difficult to predict how long the investigation will take. After taking a look at the current situation, we can roughly estimate how long an IT forensic investigation will take based on our experience.

  • How is Swiss FTS preserving the confidentiality, integrity and accessibility of the data that I will provide?

Our server infrastructure is hosted in an independent and highly secure data center in Zurich, which is ISO 27001 certified. Our staff is extensively trained to protect your data. A list of our certifications is available here. Under GDPR, the European Commission recognized Switzerland as providing adequate protection, and we do apply the strictest standards. If you have any specific question about personal data, please contact our DPO at dpo@swiss-fts.com

  • Which language do you speak at Swiss FTS?
